Solutions for the most challenging problems

Process companies face many challenges everyday, from environmental protection, worker and equipment safety, to optimizing operations. Doing more with less within safety, regulatory and economic constraints. It's a balancing act that requires vision, knowledge and dedication.

Plantmation engineers have specialized in and successfully implemented the following types of solutions.

Advanced Process Control (APC) Solutions:  We have developed configurable and reusable software platforms to enable multivariable, constraint-based control applications such as Energy Management Systems (EMS) with Real-Time Pricing (RTP), which have resulted in phenomenal savings for our customers. We have also developed configurable process optimization solutions, such as automatic selection of optimal flow rates, metering stations, and pumps for oil refinery blending processes, resulting in superior efficiency and productivity gains.

Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS):  We have developed a flexible Continuous Emission Monitoring System that allows practically any facility to keep track of and report on its gas and particulate concentrations, emission rates, and other data from pollutant analyzers. Our solution has been used in highly regulated industries such as medical waste incineration plants, helping them meet their regulatory compliance requirements.

Batch History System (BHS):  We have developed a flexible Batch History System that can be customized and used with any control system, without the need to write a single line of code. For maximum portability, the BHS uses a web-based user interface for both administration and operation, and includes automated email delivery of daily and monthly reports in desired formats (e.g. PDF, XLS, CSV, etc.) to any number of designated recipients. This solution has allowed major petrochemical plants to fulfill their product tracking and scheduled reporting needs.

Systems Integration Solutions:  We have developed configurable and highly scalable software utilities such as bi-directional OPC Data Exchange (long before the OPC Foundation published the DX standard), Modbus Master and Slave, TCP/IP Sockets, and SAP interfaces to integrate disparate control systems such as DCS, PLCs and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Engineering Productivity Solutions:  We have developed several PC-based tools and utilities to enhance engineering productivity, such as automatic generation of Logic and SAMA drawings using configuration data exported from a DCS, which can be created in various formats such as AutoCAD, Visio, PDF, etc. Such drawings are extremely useful during all stages of a project, from design to final as-built documentation, and for documenting existing systems.
